Event – Taste of Korea NYC @ Social Eatz JUL20 – we’ll be there (updated)

RECAP: 170 guests came hungry and eager to watch hunky Chef Angelo Sosa work his magic by going Korean, with the usage of gochujang, a Korean bean paste as well as liquid nitrogen. We were impressed by both the savory and the sips, as we not only left full, but there also was a superfluous amount of Bibimbap sliders going around, voted ‘Best Burger in America’. Sponsored by the Korean government, generous goodie bags were handed out, including Taste of Korea DVDs, a tee, a metal spoon and chopstick set for 2, and even a box of Jinro Soju. Event – Wine Boom in Hong Kong @ Asia Society MAY26

Join us in a food and wine reception to celebrate Hong Kong’s emergence as a regional wine hub in Asia, with brief remarks given by Donald Tong Chi-Keung, Hong Kong Commissioner for Economic and Trade Affairs, U.S.A. As Commissioner, Tong directs the HKSAR Government’s efforts in promoting US- Hong Kong economic and trade relations, and constituency-building activities in the US. He also oversees the work of the three Hong Kong Economic and Trade Offices in Washington, DC, New York and San Francisco. BUY TIX

Since the Hong Kong government abolished import duties on wine and beer in 2008, the city has fast become Asia’s leading wine hub. Hong Kong’s advantageous geographical location, advanced transport and logistics infrastructure, and rich experience in international promotions have facilitated the development of trading, storage and distribution of quality table wine in the city and brought many new business to wine traders from around the world, including the United States of America. With Hong Kong’s commitment to free trade and open markets, and the elimination of barriers to trade and investment, the city has also established itself as a top market for fine- and rare-wine sales.

Sommelier Jeffrey Andrews from the Sommelier Society of America will host a “wine bar” where he will share his expertise about wine paring with Asian food and wine preferences among Asians.
