Ah yes, it’s that time again. The weekend is here! Whether you’re going to Parked!, eating some Oysters, eating BBQ by Pier54 or simply chillaxin’, hopefully the weather won’t put a damper on your plans. As for us, we’re going over to a friend’s place for a home-cooked meal, doing some volunteering then heading on over to the Hamptons to hang. The i8 Test kitchen will also be in full force this wknd in preparation for next week’s i8 Supper Club (Family Style). Over and out!

| You’ll lounge poolside with free-flowing cocktails before heading to the table, where chef Huang will serve up his infamous BaoHaus spin on summer cookout fare with help from chef Sean Scotese and Top Chef Leah Cohen. The evening’s menu items such as Char Siu Pork and Taiwanese Fritas will showcase the sustainable meats of Fleisher’s Grass-Fed & Organic Meats, whose own Jessica Applestone and Bryan Mayer will also be on hand to sign Fleisher’s new book, The Butcher’s Guide to Well-Raised Meat, and share their carnivorous expertise. And since it’s the Hamptons, there will be surf with that turf: chef Huang’s Lu Wei crawfish! In partnership with Pat LaFrieda Wholesale Meat Purveyors, Greater Omaha, Certified Hereford, Pepsi, Arnold and Hebrew National, goodburger will be donating hamburgers, hotdogs, beverages, and all the fixings to feed NYC’s hungry in celebration of Independence Day.

Event – Tastes: Meatpacking meets Chelsea JUN4 – we’ll be there
RECAP: Today a heap of Culinary Talent took over the Cobblestone Streets of the Meatpacking District by storm. We checked out all the action including the merchandise, Old Navy van, as well as stage performances by a young talent. The event lasted from 11:30am-3:00pm, with the ticket format much like Taste of TriBeCa, except here you get 6 tastes instead of 5 for $35. Beverages were $2 and not inclusive. We didn’t get to try everything, but two of our favorites included Spice Market’s Green Tea Granita w/ red currant mousse as well as Pastis’s Chicken Liver Foie Gras Mousse w/ pickled red onions. Many were on hand to partake in the festivities as blue skies provided for the perfect backdrop to some of NYC’s great restaurants. Coupled with a great cause, good times were had by all.
