RECAP: In case you’re wondering why we’ve been MIA, we had quite the laborious weekend helping prep at the CVI (Culinary Vegetable Instititute) for 2011 Veggie U‘s VIP Tasting this year. Fret not, though. We are back with some kickass pictures of the glutfest. A feast for the senses, over 30 chefs competed for the coveted title of Winner of the best dish, with the Grand Prize of a trip for 2 to Alinea. It’s only appropriate, since this year’s theme was based on Alinea. Lots of dishes used Steelite’s Crucial Detail line, but others went with more classic plates. Many stars were on hand to celebrate this weekend of raising money and awareness at The Chef’s Garden.

Speaking of presentation, teen chef (16, to be exact) Greg Grossman scored the only perfect 10 for presentation again this year. A big Thank You to all the Chefs for coming out and congratulations to the Winners, and of course Farmer Lee Jones and his crew!
