Greenmarket – volunteers needed

Below is a call for volunteers. Note that you must attend an Volunteer Orientation session in order to volunteer. This educational session informs you of just how many Greenmarkets there are and the standards mandated to appear as a vendor. Help support your local farmers by buying and eating local!

Hi Greenmarket Past, Present, and Future Volunteers,

Due to the overwhelming number of volunteer requests these days, we send out notices about upcoming orientations, tabling events, and other volunteer opportunities via this enewsletter. If you’ve already asked to be removed from this list and you’re receiving this please let me know ASAP and we’ll take you off.

VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION

Volunteer orientation is mandatory before representing Greenmarket at the market or a tabling event. Please let us know ASAP if you plan on coming and on which date, spots fill up fast. RSVP to Ethan at egallagher@greenmarket.grownyc.org

For those of you who have already attended a volunteer orientation session (even if it was last year) you’re all set to help out at the market! Just send an email letting us know what markets you’re interested in volunteering at and we’ll connect you to the on-site Market Manager.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES We need volunteers to represent Greenmarket at the following events. Tasks will primarily include chatting with event-goers, distributing our map and other literature, and signing people up for our enewsletter. Summer Internships with Greenmarket Program

GrowNYC’s Greenmarket program is offering a number of unpaid internships for the coming season in our operations, markets, education, food access, and publicity departments. Each will require at least 10 hours per week and will include time in the office and out at market.
